Overview

Annapurna North base camp trek is newly open and off the beaten trekking trail in the Annapurna region.

The trail was founded when Maurice Herzog, a famous mountaineer tried to climb the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna I before 1950. When they found climbing Dhaulagiri difficult, they opted for Annapurna I from the northern side. The area is entirely wilderness and very interesting for those who wish to explore the beaten trekking trail in the Annapurna region.

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive Pokhara – Narchyang and trek Upper Narchyang.

Day 2: Upper Narchyang – Chhotepa

Day 3: Chhotepa – Sandhikharka

Day 4: Sandhikharka – Annapurna North Base Camp (ANBC)

Day 5: Annapurna North Base Camp – Sandhikharka

Day 6: Sandhikharka – Lower Narchyang

Day 7: Lower Narchyang – Pokhara.

Itinerary

After breakfast drive from Pokhara to Lower Narchyang via Beni for about 6 hours and trek to upper Narchyang village (Lekh Gaun) for about 2 hours. Overnight stay at a local house or camp.

After the breakfast trek from upper Narchyang Lekh Gaun -Galemdi, Khola -Dovan ( Galemdi & Mistri Khola) - Chhotepa. Overnight stay at camp.

After breakfast trek from Chhotepa to Sandhikharka via Humkhola. Overnight stay at camp.

Trek from Sandhikharka to Bhusket mala and Annapurna North Base Camp. Overnight stay at camp.

Trek from Annapurna North Base Camp visit to Glacier (4190 m.). Overnight stay at camp.

About 5 hours trek from Sandhikharka to Humkhola - Chotepa and a one and half-hour off-road drive down to Lower Narchyang. Overnight stay at camp or local lodge.

After breakfast drive from lower Narchyang to Pokhara.

This trek starts from Pokhara, and this itinerary also begins from Pokhara. You can come to Pokhara from Kathmandu with a 6-hour drive or a 30 mins flight. Or we can arrange your pick up from Kathmandu Airport upon request, and also organize a few days of visit around the cities of Kathmandu and Pokhara before the trek.
