Tiji Festival Lo-Mangthang - 9 Days

The Tiji (Ten Chi) Festival is the most auspicious festival in the Upper Mustang region of Nepal. Dorje Jono fought and defeated this demon and the festival celebrates his victory with prayer chants and colorful dances. Chhode Monastery at Lo Manthang in Upper Mustang is famous for its performance of Vajrakila practice and ritual.


The Tiji (Ten Chi) Festival is the most auspicious festival in the Upper Mustang region of Nepal. Ancient mythology relates how the Tiji is celebrating to mark the victory of good over evil.


Day 1: Drive Pokhara to Marpha

Day 2: Drive Marpha to Ghiling

Day 3: Drive Ghiling to Lo-Manthang

Day 4: Observe Tiji Festival at Lo-Manthang

Day 5: Observe Tiji Festival at Lo-Manthang

Day 6: Observe Fiji Festival at Lo-Manthang and drive to Charang

Day 7: Drive Charang to Chhuksang

Day 8: Drive Chhuksang to Jomsom via Muktinath

Day 9: Fly Jomsom to Pokhara


Day 1
Drive from Pokhara to Marpha (2880 m.) 8 Hrs.

It is almost brushing the sides of the mighty Kali Gandaki river gorge and the massive Dhaulagiri mountain along the way up. As you go up, the landscape changes from the lush greenery of the Pokhara area to the barren, rocky terrain of Mustang. Your road follows the Kali Gandaki. Stay overnight at Lodge.

Day 2
Drive from Marpha to Ghiling (3650 m.) 5 Hrs.

After breakfast drive to Ghiling via Jomsom & Kagbeni while we reach Kagbeni stop for formality to enter Upper mustang. And drive onward to Ghiling and stay overnight at Lodge.

Day 3
Drive Ghiling to Lo-Manthang (3840 m.) 4 Hrs.

Drive from Ghiling to Lo-Mangthan enjoy the view of the Mountain. Stay overnight at Lodge.

Day 4
Observe the Tiji Festival in Lo -Manthang

First Day of (09th, May-2021) Tiji (Ten Chi) After breakfast towards the walled city Lo-Mangthan through beautiful Stupa, magnificent landscape, and after some rest at the hotel participant on the opening ceremony of the Tiji festival at late noon.

Day 5
Observe the Tiji Festival in Lo-Manthang

Second Day of TIJI (Ten Chi) (10th, May-2021) festival celebration.
After breakfast and pony ride to Chooser Cave (3900m) and monastery, some rest after lunch in the hotel, ready for the second day of the Tiji Festival starts around 1 pm and ends around 6 pm).

Day 6
Observe the Tiji Fastival in Lo-Mangthang and drive to Charang (3700 m.) 1 Hrs.

Last day observe the Tiji Festival (11th, May-2021) and drive to Charang. Stay overnight at Lodge.
Before observe in the Tiji Festival, we do participant a daily chant on Monastry and visit the Royal palace and Monastry in wall city.

Day 7
Drive from Charang to Chhuksang (2900 m.) 5 Hrs.

Day 8
Drive from Chhuksang to Jomsom (3310 m.) via Muktinath (3760 m.) 5 Hrs.

After breakfast drive to Muktinath, which is one of the highest temples in the World. It’s also the most important pilgrimage sites of Nepal for both Hindus and Buddhists. After visit Muktinath drive to Jomsom. Stay overnight at Jomsom.

Day 9
Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara 25 Minutes.

Early morning fly to Pokhara and leisure time. End tour.
