Mustang Bike Tour

8 Days

This is a breathtaking biking trip for those who want to experience an awe-inspiring holiday that offers the most of Nepal from the Himalayan Epic Ride to the low land tropical topography. We also include Jomsom Muktinath which is a famous pilgrimage site for Hindu and Buddhist people.  It is believed that once you reach Muktinath and take a bath by walking under 108 water spouts, your sins will be washed away and you will be as innocent as a child again. We will be riding through pristine villages, accommodated by diverse groups of lovely Native people, embraced by high mountain peaks, unique culture, and an authentic lifestyle. It is an all-mountain ride with enduro-oriented trails, however, we also could have XC types of trails to tailor the ride to your physical and technical desires or needs for a wonderful mountain biking experience on the Himalayan trails. Embrace an amazing experience of biking between the two eight-thousand-meter mountains of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna I, as we will ride through the deepest gorge in the world.

Itinerary

We will wake up early in the morning to catch the first flight to Jomsom. Once we land at Jomsom then assemble our bikes, have breakfast, and ride along the Kaligandaki river bed. We will stay at Kagbeni in a guest house.

Today, we have a challenging uphill ride to check its fitness uphill at the Himalayan height, the thin air that we call it. Muktinath is a famous pilgrimage among Buddhist and Hindu people from all over the world. Stay overnight at Lodge.

We are here at our destination today. We have options either to stay relaxed, visit the temple, and monasteries, and pay attention to the homage of locals by praying and Pooja or hiking up the Thorong Phedi and down to Muktinath.

Muktinath to Marpha allows us the best optional ride which one to take either follow Jeep track or super flow fun single track via Lupra valley. Our tour leader and individuals and group can decide which route to take based on their technical skills. if you are a single-track rider and if you are an intermediate rider still you can try to take the via Lupra trails which is a rewarding ride. We are more than sure you will have a smile on your face during the whole trip. The best trail Mustang has to offer! Marpha is famous as an Apple capital for the production of Apple brandy and other apple-related products.

We have another beautiful day to go for an awesome ride. We will ride through pristine villages of Marpha, Tukuche, Kalopani, Ghasa, and other ethnic Magar Villages that will not only allow us to have the best ride but also observe the culture and diversity of nature from Himalayan height to subtropical topography. We will hit some of the best single trails through the apple garden and pine forest. It’s an amazing day on your holiday. There will be a natural muscle recovery remedy in the evening to immerse yourself in the natural hot spring.

We are heading to Pokhara today to the lower altitude which means we have full of oxygen in our lungs. Our ride will be on a Jeep track to Beni along the Kaligandaki Riverbank. It will be mostly downhill through the Myagdi district. Our private vehicle will be waiting for us to take up to Naundanda and our ride will start to Sarankot we will be staying in this village which offers a superb, extraordinary view of the lake, landscapes, and mountains.

We are at the spot where you can have views of the above Eight thousand height mountains, the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, and Manaslu You will get amazed by the jaw-dropping sceneries of the Himalayas and beautiful landscapes. After the sunrise view, we will ride downhill to Harpan valley and then climb up to the Bhumdi village.

Today is the last day of our rides but not the least. We will ride through Pumdi village, forest, and terraces which is different than what we have ridden up in the Mustang. We will make a stop at world peace Pagoda for a Kora (to make a right circle of the stupa) then we will hit the queen forest single-track after this single track we will ride back to Lakeside and celebrate your holiday tonight with your crews and group.

What kind of Bike do I need?

We would say an all-mountain bike! however depends on what types of ride you will be doing here in our playground. We do have an all-mountain, cross country, and Enduro/downhill oriented ride so based on your selection the types of ride you can decide to bring your bike. We would recommend a minimum of 120 mm 140 travel front and rear. If your preference is hardtail riding then it is Ok to ride on hardtail also.

How far we will be mountain biking each day on our trip?

Generally, we cover distance each day varies from place to place. Usually, we will ride from 15 km to 55 km in a day. As we will be riding at high altitude, we will gain height gradually during the trip to make sure that your body becomes accustomed and adapt to the altitude gain. Our team leader will speak each evening and give you the info on the types of trails you will be riding the next day.

What kind of tires should I bring for the ride in Nepal?

We would recommend aggressive thread for this ride as we will be encountering rough, muddy, dusty, loose sandy and hard dry trails. It is better to have Maxxis Ardent 2.3 and 2.4 for all-mountain rides but if you are signed on Enduro/downhill trip we would recommend Maxxis high roller 2.3 and 2.4, you can bring same quality tires from Bontrager or Schwalbe.

How we going to transport all our stuff/ we have to carry or manage all our gear with us while riding and what about my bike bags?

We will be transporting your entire luggage on Jeep were accessible by road and if not accessible by road then we will transport your luggage on the plane and there will be porter to carry your luggage on the Mountain while you will be riding. You only need to carry a day pack with your camel bag with energy bars, windcheater, sunblock, and tools that you may use them to repair your bike just in case. Your luggage will transfer to your next accommodation each day before you arrive in most of the days. Regarding your bike bag, we will be stored in our office and you will re-pack your bike after the trip.
