Ganesh Himal Trek has a lot of Tibetan influences which makes it a truly unique trekking experience. The trek named after the elephant headed God of good fortune. Throughout the trek you will see spectacular mountain views and experience the different cultures of the region. There are many distinct ethnic groups on Himal trekking which gives a real Nepali way of life with its rich Nepalese traditions. Ganesh Himal, a breathtaking trekking goes through a little explored area of Nepal, stunning scenery and friendly villagers. Trekking in the Ganesh Himal region will offer up magnificent views of snowy peaks like Ganesh Himal I, II, III and IV. Ganesh Himal is positioned north-west of Kathmandu, rarely visited by tourists.

pristine part of Eastern Nepal, where beautiful valleys meet snow capped mountains smiling back at you. Walk through breathtaking meadows and untouched coniferous forests, where you get to experience the quaint old villages of the local ethnic people. Hike through forests filled with pastel shades of red, pink and white, as you enter forests covered entirely of Nepal’s national flower, the Rhododendron.

Ganesh Himal is named after the legendary elephant-headed Hindu God Ganesh.The Ganesh Range Peaks (Ganesh I, Ganesh II, Ganesh III, Ganesh IV) stand out like crystals, forming a “Great Himalayan Chain” in the skyline.

Day 1
Drive to Syabrubesi

Drive from Kathmandu/Pokhara to SyabruBeshi (1503m/4945Ft.) – 7 / 8 hrs drive. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 2
SyabruBeshi to Gatlang

We trek from SyabruBeshi to Gatlang (2337m/7690ft.) – a 5 to 6 hours walk though mildly steep terrain.

Day 3
Gatlang to Somdang

From Gatlang we trek through dense rhododendron forests, climb up a pass and descend down to Somdang (3271m/10760Ft)where a cheese factory is situated! – 6 / 7 hrs walk

Day 4
Somdang to Pangsang Pass (La)

Somdang to Pangsang Pass (La) (3842m/ 12640Ft) – 3 / 4 hrs walk, overnight in Tipling at a lodge.

Day 5
Tipling to Shertung

Pangsang Pass to Shertung (1875m/ 6188Ft) – 5 / 6 hrs walk

Day 6
Chalise to Hindung

Chalise to Hindung (2220m /7425Ft) – 5 / 6 hrs walk

Day 7
Hindung to Rajgang Kharka

Hindung to Rajgang Kharka – 5 / 6 hrs walk

Day 8
Rajgang Kharka to Kalo Seto Kunda

Rajgang Kharka to Kalo Seto Kunda (Black and White Lake) Ganesh Himal Base camp – 6 / 7 hrs walk

Rest and Acclimatization

Return to Rajgang Kharka

Khahare Bazaar to Kathmandu

Drive from Khahare Bazaar to Kathmandu by bus /private vehicle – 7 / 8 hrs drive
