Itinerary
Depart from Pokhara/ Kathmandu on an overland drive as you travel to Macha Khola, Gorkha district. Today's journey will take you to Arughat, a trading center in Gorkha, located near the raging Budhi Gandaki River. From there you will take a dirt road to Soti Khola, and Macha Khola is your final destination of the day.
The vegetation changes as you pick altitude. Travel past Tatopani, Dovan, and Yaruphant villages to reach Jagat. Overnight stay at Jagat.
Today will take you past scattered villages before you reach Philim, from where the trail passes through fields and terraces to reach Lhokpa. Overnight stay at Lhokpa.
The trek through a narrow gorge before it climbs uphill through rhododendron and pine forests, past small farming villages to reach Chumling, your first stop in the Tsum Valley. Overnight stay at Chumling.
Enjoy gorgeous mountain sceneries as you trek through the valley with Ganesh Himal and Mount Manaslu in front of your eyes. Notice the change in the landscape as it turns more into the windswept Tibetan plateau. Overnight stay at Chhokang Paro.
Today our route leads toward the upper Tsum area to the Nile wide via an open valley with windswept terrain all around and only a few small trees that survive in this kind of terrain. Visit the holy cave where Milarepa, the 11th-century Buddhist saint, and tantric guru is said to have meditated.
Today's walk leads to the highest point of the adventure, Mu Gompa, Overnight stay at Mu Gompa.
Explore the unexplored with your trekking guide. After exploration around Mu Gompa, we trek down to Rachen Gompa. The trail leads the same route to Phurbe and then crosses the Bridge and comes down via Bursi( Melerepa Footprint), Lama Gaon, and Nakyu village. It takes 6 hours to walk downhill and overnight stay at the Rachen.
Your return journey starts today. Visit another important monastery en route, Rachen Gompa, Stay there overnight.
Explore around Ganesh Himal Base camp then back to Lungdang for an overnight stay.
Trek Back to Lokpa through the same trail and mostly descending and forest walk. 6/7 hours walking.
Today we will catch the main trail of the Manaslu circuit and follow the same river of Budi Gandaki to Ghap.
Today we trek to Lho it takes 7 hours to walk via the jungle with a view of Ganesh Himal and other mountains. Overnight in Lho at tea house.
Today, we climb through a forest of oaks, fir, and rhododendrons while entering the closely packed houses of Lihi. Further, our trail leaves the Lihi village and enters another village of Sho (2,960 m) where we get some spectacular views of Mount Manaslu North (7,157 m) and Naike Peak (5,515 m). Walking further will bring us to the settlement of Shrip. We then climb through a trail sometime to reach the village of Sama Gaon where we stay overnight.
Today we will have many choices for acclimatization; - Visit Birendra Lake, Monastery, and the local village. Hike to Manaslu Base camp full day - Hike to Punggen Gompa 5/6 hours.
Our route today passes the juniper and birch forests and the stone hut of Kermo Kharka. Trekking further for some hours, we eventually reach Samdo where we stay overnight.
Today, we descend on a comprehensive and gentle trail from Samdo. We pass through a stone archway. We climb gently over the huge Larkya Glacier and get to the ridge where there is a viewpoint on the edge of a huge gorge. We reach Dharmasala after trekking for some hours. We stay overnight at a local guesthouse in Dharmasala.
Today, we leave Dharmasala crossing several moraines. We descend past four frozen lakes and reach Larkya La pass (5,200 m) from where we can witness the tremendous views of Himlung Himal (7,126 m) and others including Annapurna II, Gyaji Kung, Cheo Himal, and Kang Guru. We further descend along the grassy moraine to a small meadow called Bhimtang where we stay overnight.
Our trail today drops from Bhimtang and crosses a glacier stream. We then descend into a beautiful forest of pine and rhododendron to Hompuk. After descending further, we reach the fenced field of Karache and the village of Gho. Tilche is nearby, where we spend overnight.
Today, our trail drops down and passes through several fields, houses, and forests of rhododendron and oak. We descend through a scrub forest and reach Tal.
We drive back to Pokhara/ Kathmandu from Tal. It takes approx. 7 hours to arrive at Pokhara/ Kathmandu. We celebrate the farewell dinner together with Trek and Climb Adventure team.
