Annapurna North Base Camp Trek (A Trail Maurice Herzog) - 7 Days

Annapurna North base camp trek is newly open and off the beaten trekking trail in the Annapurna region. This adventurous trekking is best for filming and photography. The area is fully wilderness and very interesting for those who wish to explore off the beaten trekking trail in the Annapurna region. The trekking tended camp base.

The trekking route (Maurice Herzog Trail) has been named after French citizen Maurice who was the first person to climb the peak in 1950. And this is a new route to the base camp of the 10th highest peak in the world.

Herzog was a French mountaineer and administrator who were born in Lyon, France. He led the Annapurna expedition that first climbed Annapurna I (8091m.) in 1950.

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive Pokhara – Narchyang and trek Upper Narchyang.

Day 2: Upper Narchyang – Chhotepa

Day 3: Chhotepa – Sandhikharka

Day 4: Sandhikharka – Annapurna North Base Camp (ANBC)

Day 5: Annapurna North Base Camp – Sandhikharka

Day 6: Sandhikharka – Lower Narchyang

Day 7: Lower Narchyang – Pokhara.

Itinerary

Day 1
Pokhara to lower Narchyang and Trek to upper Narchyang 8 hours (2140m.)

After breakfast drive from Pokhara to Lower Narchyang via Beni for about 6 hours and trek to upper Narchyang village (Lekhgaun) about 2 hours. Stay overnight at a local house or camp.

Day 2
Upper Narchyang to Chhotepa 7-8 hours (2370 m.)

After the breakfast trek from upper Narchyang Lekhgaun -Galemdi, Khola -Dovan ( Galemdi & Mistri Khola) – Chhotepa. Stay overnight at camp.

Day 3
Chhotepa - Sandhikharka 6-7 hours (3160 m.)

After breakfast trek from Chhotepa to Sandhikharka via Humkhola. Stay overnight at camp.

Day 4
Sandhikharka - A.N.B.C. 6-7 hours (4068 m.)

Trek from Sandhikharka to Bhusket mala and Annapurna North Base Camp. Stay overnight at camp.

Day 5
Annapurna North Base Camp - Sandhikharka 6-7 hours (3160 m.)

Trek from Annapurna North Base Camp visit to Glacier (4190 m.). Stay overnight at camp.

Day 6
Sandhikharka - Lower Narchyang

About 5 hours trek from Sandhikharka to Humkhola – Chotepa and one and a half hour off-road drive down to Lower Narchyang. Stay overnight at camp or local lodge.

Day 7
Lower Narchyang - Pokhara 6 hours.

After breakfast drive from lower Narchyang to Pokhara.

This trek starts from Pokhara, and this itinerary also begins from Pokhara. You can come to Pokhara from Kathmandu with a 6-hour drive or a 30 mins flight. Or we can arrange your pick up from Kathmandu Airport upon request, and also organize a few days of visit around the cities of Kathmandu and Pokhara before the trek.
