Langtang Gosaikunda Trek - 14 Days

Langtang is one amongst the top three preferred trekking regions of Nepal. This trek combining Langtang valley and the near Gosainkunda lake is an distinctive itinerary that gives all details of the region in a single trek. The Langtang valley and Gosainkunda can be done as separate treks too.
This trek offers a face to face with high mountains and glaciers inside a brief time-frame and additionally provides a chance to examine pristine Gosainkunda lake. The trek starts with an 8 hour jeep ride to Syabrubesi. The trek passes through ethnic Tamang villages , forests and many yak pastures. Walking on the langtang Khola valley we tend to reach the attention-grabbing Kyanjin gompa on the fourth day. Next day we tend to explore the Langtang valley and visit the glaciers. After Langtang we head for Gosainkunda. Along the route we enjoy great view from Laure bina. We cross the Laure bina pass at 4610m and descend to the Sherpa village of Helambu. Before catching our vehicle from Sundarijal, we enjoy yet another mountian view from Chisapani.

Helambu trek in Langtang region is recognized by most trekkers for its scenic grandeur and pleasant climate and is rated as an easier trek as the elevations are lower ranging between 800m to 3600m. One of the advantage of Helambu trek is that there are fewer trekkers here than on the region like Annapurna and Everest, but there is still a wide range of cultures and spectacular scenery to view.

Langtang Helambu trek is an easy and enjoyable destination to trek which doesn’t require any special training, but would be much better if one is in good physical condition and who love to walk with a innermost desire to enjoy the spectacular views of the mountains and the village life of Helambu, Langtang region.

This trek starts from Kathmandu, you can come a few days earlier to Kathmandu and visit around the valley. Kathmandu is also known as the city of Temples, and once you’re here, you will know why. If you have a few spare days for Nepal, we can arrange tours across Pokhara, Lumbini, Chitwan and other destinations.

Day 1
Drive to Syaphru besi

Bus ride from Kathmandu to Shyphru Besi (1462m), travelling 8 hours on paved roads past Dhunche.

Day 2
Syaphru besi to Lama Hotel

Trek to Lama Hotel (2748m) for 5 hours through the thick forest of oak, pine and bamboo trees.

Day 3
Lama Hotel to Langtang Village

Trek to Langtang Village (3500m) for three hours walking through beautiful scenery of mountains, river and waterfalls. As we reach the green meadows of Ghora Tabela, the magnificient view of snowy white peaks of the Langtang range becomes clearly visible. Once in the Langtang Village we will explore the village charm – the water-driven mills, flat-roofed Tibetan settlements, prayer wheels and the local yak cheese factory.

Day 4
Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa

Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3800m) for 4 hours gradually ascending the views of Chyarkuri and Kyanjin ri peaks.

Day 5
Exploration around Kyanjin Gompa

Tserko Ri (5033m) is a steep climb for 9o minutes from Kyangjin Gompa. However, the spectacular 360 degree mountain views available of the surrounding peaks and up and down the Langtang valley offer plentiful reward. This is the pinnacle of the Langtang trek and energy permitting the ascent of Tserko Ri should defiantly be undertaken so that you can take in Langtang’s snowcapped mountain range in all its glory.

Day 6
Extra day trip to Langshisa Kharka

3 hours trek to Langshisa Kharka( great wilderness place with shiny mountain views around)

Day 7
Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel

Trek around 6 hours to Lama Hotel where u can have a good sleep.

Day 8
Lama Hotel to Thulo Syaphru

Following down Langtang river and ascending upto the most beautiful village Thulo Syaphru in about 5 hours.

Day 9
Thulo Syaphru to Sing Gompa

Steep climbing through pine forests for about 4 hours we reach Sing Gompa—where we visit cheese factory.

Day 10
Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda

Steep climbing through Lauribinayak pass to Gosaikunda. Great view of overlooking western himalayan region, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu Himal, Annapurna Himalaya Range etc.

Day 11
Gosaikunda to Thadepati

A big day, climbing along Gosaikunda Pass and descending down to Ghopte. Gradually ascending to Thadepati Hotel in about 9 hours.

Day 12
Thadepati to Kutumsang

Descending down through the deep forest for about 5 hours, getting into the beautiful Kutumsang(Sherpa village).

Day 13
Kutumsang to Chisapani

A up and down walking day for about 6 hours passing several beautiful village, great overlooking green mountain view

Day 14
Chisapani to Sundarijal, drive to Kathmandu

3 hours trek to Sundarijal via Mulkharka village and Shivapuri National Park. A different feeling of getting into the city Kathmandu.
