Langtang Gosaikunda Trek

This trek offers a face-to-face with high mountains and glaciers inside a brief time frame and additionally provides a chance to examine the pristine Gosainkunda lake. Our trek passes through culturally made Buddhist villages largely occupied by the Tamangs and the Sherpas also can have a chance to examine some lovely, old gompas and Yak herds. In the summer annually the valley floors of Langtang provide a true spectacle of blooming primrose, poppy, and iris and is an ideal place to see alpine flowers.

Overview

Helambu trek in the Langtang region is recognized by most trekkers for its scenic grandeur and pleasant climate and is rated as an easier trek as the elevations are lower ranging between 800 m. to 3600 m. One of the advantages of the Helambu trek is that there are fewer trekkers here than in the region like Annapurna and Everest, but there is still a wide range of cultures and spectacular scenery to view.

Langtang Helambu trek is an easy and enjoyable destination to trek which doesn’t require any special training but would be much better if one is in good physical condition and who loves to walk with an innermost desire to enjoy the spectacular views of the mountains and the village life of Helambu, Langtang region.

Itinerary

This trek starts from Kathmandu, you can come a few days earlier to Kathmandu and visit around the valley. Kathmandu is also known as the city of Temples, and once you’re here, you will know why. If you have a few spare days for Nepal, we can arrange tours across Pokhara, Lumbini, Chitwan, and other destinations.

Day 1: Drive to Syaphru besi

Day 2: Syaphru besi to Lama Hotel

Day 3: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village

Day 4: Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa

Day 5: Exploration around Kyanjin Gompa

Day 6: Extra day trip to Langshisa Kharka

Day 7: Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel

Day 8: Lama Hotel to Thulo Syaphru

Day 9: Thulo Syaphru to Sing Gompa

Day 10: Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda

Day 11: Gosaikunda to Thadepati via Gosaikunda Pass

Day 12: Thadepati to Kutumsang

Day 13: Kutumsang to Chisapani

Day 14: Chisapani to Sundarijal, drive to Kathmandu

Itinerary

The bus ride from Kathmandu to Shyphru Besi travels on paved roads via Dhunche.

Trek to Lama Hotel through the thick forest of oak, pine, and bamboo trees.

Trek to Langtang Village through the beautiful scenery of mountains, rivers, and waterfalls. As we reach the green meadows of Ghora Tabela, the magnificent view of snowy white peaks of the Langtang range becomes clearly visible. Once in the Langtang Village, we will explore the village charm - the water-driven mills (Ghata), flat-roofed, prayer wheels, and the local yak cheese factory.

Trek to Kyangjin Gompa gradually ascending the views of Chyarkuri and Kyanjin Ri peaks.

Tserko Ri (5033m) is a steep climb of 90 minutes from Kyangjin Gompa. However, the spectacular 360-degree mountain views available of the surrounding peaks and up and down the Langtang valley offer a plentiful reward. This is the pinnacle of the Langtang trek and energy permitting the ascent of Tserko Ri should defiantly be undertaken so that you can take in Langtang's snowcapped mountain range in all its glory.

Trek to Langshisa Kharka (a great wilderness place with shiny mountain views around)

Trek around 6 hours to Lama Hotel where u can have a good sleep.

Following down Langtang river and ascending up to the most beautiful village Thulo Syaphru.

Steep climbing through pine forests we reach Sing Gompa—where we visit a cheese factory.

Steep climbing through Lauribinayak pass to Gosaikunda. Great view overlooking the western Himalayan region, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu Himal, Annapurna Himalaya Range, etc.

A big day, climbing along Gosaikunda Pass and descending down to Ghopte. Gradually ascending to Thadepati.

Descending down through the deep forest, getting into the beautiful Kutumsang (Sherpa Village).

An up and down walking day passing several beautiful villages, great overlooking green mountain view.

3 hours trek to Sundarijal via Mulkharka village and Shivapuri National Park. A different feeling of getting into the city of Kathmandu.
